Optimum Procurement Middle East’s recent roundtable event held in Dubai provided a productive forum for some of the region’s leading procurement professionals to share knowledge and ideas.

The desire to build UAE national capability by attracting and developing local talent is clearly of high importance to organisations in the Middle East and was discussed in detail.

The event was supported by Dubai SME, a division of the Department of Economic Development set up to promote innovation and leadership across all segments of the small and medium enterprise sector. The challenges and potential opportunities for SMEs in the region were also debated by delegates.

The event reinforced Optimum’s belief that there is an emerging appetite for procurement outsourcing and consulting services from businesses in the Middle East, and a desire to boost procurement capability in the region.

A high-calibre selection of world-class organisations were represented at the roundtable, including the following:

Dubai SME, Dubai Airport, Al Wasl, Tanfeeth, Visa, DU, Petrofac, Emirates Airline, Unilever and Majid Al Futtaim.
